"May He give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, enlightening the eyes of your understanding that you may know the hope of His calling."  Eph. 1:17

For eight years now, God has been taking me on a journey to reveal to me the beauty of His purpose in creating prophetic art. Two years ago I found out that the word "artisan" in the bible translates as wise-hearted. God has been leading me into the desire to discover what His heavenly purpose and function for the arts is. Art did not originate on the earth, nor did humanity invent the concept of it.

This year God has been opening a specific door of encountering Him through art meditation: taking a portion of scripture, praying for revelation, then using art as a means to wait on Him and creating out of the revelation that He is giving. As I have consisently found a deep and vibrant connection with Him through this process I began to realize that this is not a new concept. There is a legacy that is hundreds of years old, passed down through generations: the illuminated manuscript. Before the printing press, scribes and monks would spend hours upon hours creating beautiful masterpieces of the written word that would reflect upon the glory of the revelation these words carry. I have felt a kindredness to the ones who have learned to find an open door through the written word of art meditation. My most recent art reflects the journey I have been on with the Lord in this place. This page contains my recent work and earlier paintings as well. I invite you into the living room of my art journal and dialogue with the Lord and pray that you will be touched

by Him in the process. Bless you!  - Krista Hope

Melchizedek- A priest forever

This year, God has been declaring over His people, it's time to
come off of the earthly ground of man's ministry. It's time to
function out of the ministry of the house of heaven. God is
getting ready to shake the structures of man like never before
and the ground we stand on will be revealed, whether we are
on a foundation built out of heaven or out of the earth (1 Cor. 3:11-15). As my heart has been stirring over this burden, He
began to draw me into an understanding concerning the order
of Melchizedek, as talked about in Hebrews. I'm coming to
realize that there are two priestly orders talked about in scripture. One is an earthly ministry, that of the order of Aaron. The other is a heavenly ministry, of the order of Melchizedek (Heb. 7). There is an invitation going forth for those that would
enter this calling, to lay aside the ways of the earth and enter
the pure ministry before the golden altar in heaven. Bob Jones,
a great prophet and man of God, once had an encounter with
Jesus, where the Lord spoke to Him concerning the Joel 2 end-time army He was raising up in these last days, that they would
be of the order of Melchizedek. These are the ones that will not
love their lives even unto death. They will learn the ways of an
overcomer and in the midst of shaking and great adversity, they will enter into a heavenly realm, called the sabbath rest. They will bear the image of Christ because they have been before him in heaven; and the same glory that was on the face of Moses will be reflected upon them as they carry the word of truth before their generation.

Dwelling Place

"You Oh Lord, have been our dwelling place throughout all generations." - Psalm 90:1

As I meditated on this verse, I began to see circles within circles, the boundary lines of God throughout the generations. I didn't know what I was creating as I began to draw but the presence and revelation of the Lord became stronger the more I drew and meditated on this verse. Phrases started pouring out, things I don't understand and I realized that I was touching something that wasn't just a concept, but a place, a realm of wisdom in the heart of God, just as wisdom was with God in the beginning when He created the boundary lines of the earth. (Prov. 8)

Draw Near

And since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart, in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Zion

"But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem and to myriads of angles, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks better than the blood of Abel." Heb. 12:22-23
"Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it; and one of the elders said to me, 'stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals. And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders, a lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth." Kairos

Kairos time is divine intersecting where the
time of earth(chronos) meets the time of heaven (elam). The clock in this picture represents the church. All of the gears show the various parts of the body that work together to function as a whole. The chain represents the different ages of the church that have been linked together throughout time, forged by the fire, holding the key that winds the clock and continues with its functioning as the baton has been passed throughout each generation. The parchment is the scroll of destiny, written by the divine will of the Father. The sands of time wrap the scroll around the clock. The time on the clock reads 12:22. Hebraically, 12 is a number of government, 22 is to unite. The stars in the background are the sons of God that have come into maturity. There is a kairos appointment of God where the chronos and elam will meet and the full purpose and inheritance of Jesus' bride will come forth in full maturity to fulfill the eternal destiny that is in the heart of the Father.

Lindisfarne

This year, as I have gone on a journey of discovering the Lord in a deeper way with scribing the word through art and revelation, I received the opportunity to learn about the celtic monks and their history with art. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to visit Lindisfarne, a celtic island off the coast of northern England. This island has a rich history of prayer and is known as one of the birthplaces of christianity in that region. There is a famous historical illuminated manuscript called the Lindisfarne Gospels. This beautiful art manuscript created in the 600's reveals the culture of scribing the word through art that these celtic monks embraced. While I was on the island I had the opportunity to meet an amazing artist named Mary Fleeson. Her store, "The Scriptorium", was filled with beautiful modern interpretations of illuminated scripture art done through freestyle celtic knotwork. As I learned about her artwork I found that she recommends doing the celtic knotwork as a way to meditate on the scripture. It blew my mind how God was leading me on this personal journey and connecting me to an ancient wellspring that would continue to confirm the life of the spirit on this style of art. This piece was my first attempt at Mary's method of knotwork that I created while in England and Scotland.

Watch and Pray

Spirit of wisdom and revelation, enlighten the eyes of my
understanding that I may know the hope of my calling, to approve the things that are excellent. (Ephesians 1)

Let zeal for Your house consume me. (Psalm 69:9)

Watch and pray. Eyes to see. Ears to hear, to be alert and soberminded. (1 Peter 4:7)

Therefore beloved, since you've been looking for these things, be diligent to be found by Him, in peace, spotless and blameless. (2 Peter 3:14)

New and Living Way

"Therefore brethen, since we have confidence to enter the holy place, by a new and living way, which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is His flesh, let us draw near with a sincere heart, in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10:19-20

As I meditated on this verse, I saw a picture of the veil of His flesh. When I started drawing it, my heart felt so ugly and in pain. I was being faced with the reality that His flesh is offensive to our human condition. He said, "unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no part in me." That day many people left Him because the saying was too hard for them to bear. (John 6:53) As I thought about this, I realized that in the natural, the veil looked like blood and guts and it made me want to run, because its choosing death, the fellowship of His suffering. But as I began to come by faith, I started to see a vision of this veil as a waterfall coming over a cave. As I entered His blood, His death, I entered into heaven, into the Holy place, where, in the spirit, His blood became bright white light, pure energy. It no longer looked like blood as we know it. And I understood that as I passed through the veil, His blood was cleansing me and it became a garment upon me; that when I entered I was covered in white, sprinkled clean, and made a priest before Him in the Holy place.

Love Song

One day I was sitting in the prayer room (www.ihopkc.org) and my heart was in a place of crisis. Misty Edwards was leading worship. She began to sing a prophetic that so profoundly moved my heart that I began writing down what she was singing.

Do you know, how you've caught my eye in the secret place where you chose to die?

I've seen inside of you. I've seen that you've said that you're going to do whatever it takes to meet with Me. Do you know the way you move Me? I want you to learn how to lean on Me and no one else.

It's going to be worth it. Let Me be your vision. Let Me be your goal in life. Let Me be your portion.

Come away. I will make you like a priest. I will be your portion.  Am I enough for you?

You may feel like you're dying, and you're dying to live with Me.

You're going to feel misunderstood. You're going to feel judged. I'm going to starve you out. I'm going to starve you out until you don't desire the praise of men, even the godly ones. You will be glad when you get to the other side and wisdom will be justified. The wisdom of God seems simple, but it is the way to everlasting life.

IWANTYOU. ILOVEYOU. YOU DON'T HAVE TO PROVE YOURSELF.

It is finished

"It is finished." It has arrived: the summation of all things. The story of human history is made complete and the bride has made herself ready. She comes forth from the waters, the ceremonial mikvah of cleansing- pure and spotless; ready to pass through this age into the ageless where the Lamb is waiting to make her His own.
The depth of her thirst has produced the depth of access to the living water. As she comes forth from the water, she enters as an overcomer to meet her inheritance; the One who is waiting to His inheritance.

"Then He said to me, 'it is finished. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. To those who are thirsty I will give freely to drink of the water of life without cost. He who overcomes shall inherit all things." - Revelation 21:6-7

Enter

Last year during a ministry trip to Virginia I started creating this dancer. I felt God telling me that I would soon give it away to someone. The next day, the minister I was traveling with was teaching a workshop on scripture meditation. During the debriefing a woman began to share an encounter she had during the workshop. She was in heaven, dancing before the Lord on the sea of glass. As she was describing her experience I realized that I had been painting the very picture of her encounter even before she had it! I love when God does this because it reveals that He is inviting us to enter a real place with Him, just like the door into Narnia. When I started painting this picture, it wasn't just a nice picture, it was a reality of a very real place called heaven that we are being invited into.

Surrender

Into Your hands I commit My spirit.
Luke 23:46

As God began taking me on a journey to learn about the wellsprings of celtic christianity I recognized that their faith and spirituality carry a deep anointing for the body of Christ. God began to show me that the design of their celtic knotwork reveals principles of spiritual dimension, ever entwining, ever moving, like a wheel within a wheel; what Ezekiel saw in heaven. This piece was my first effort at combininig water technique with knotwork, using the interplay of light in the water and entwining desing of the knotwork to represent the realm of the spirit. This is a picture of Jesus on the cross, surrendering Himself unto death. The two circles are the Father and the Holy Spirit. The water drops represent the angelic host that He could have called upon at any moment. The blue color speaks of the mystery of the knowledge of God that was displayed through Jesus' death on the cross. What seemed like defeat to the natural eye, through surrender became ultimate victory, revealing the way of His kingdom, that which is born of spirit, showing the way of an overcomer.

Perseverance

This painting is inspired by the motto of the scottish "kells" family name. The motto is "learn to suffer." Their family crest is a picture of a ship. The ship depicts the courage to face the storm, rather than returning to the harbor of comfort. The wind that comes with perseverance brings forth acceleration for the journey

I am the rose

This is a declaration of who the bride is before her king. In Song of Solomon 2:1. the bride unashamedly speaks the truth of her beauty and worth before her bridegroom. He responds by confirming this truth that she is the beloved above all the maidens. There is a place of complete trust and freedom where the rose, in its delicate, fragrant beauty blossoms in love  and knows that she is the desired one of the kings heart. This is the true beauty that Jesus created and recognizes in His bride.

Show Me Your Glory

"but we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Corintians 3:18
In Exodus 33, Moses asks of the Lord, "show me Your glory," a phrase that I believe, defines the walk of Moses' life. The next chapter, the Lord passes by Moses on the mountain and begins to declare His nature to Moses: mercy and justice. There is a double-edged sword of the nature of God. The ones that behold His glory will carry the true nature of God. These two parts of God are not in conflict but create perfect rest as is seen in the sword of Hebrews 4. The blue and pink colors (justice and mercy) combine together to create purple. It is a royal priesthood, an army of worshippers that will be transformed in His image, carrying the true nature of God to be released on the earth. This sword will bring forth a great transformation of harvesting. When we become the sacrifice like Isaac, the Lord will bring forth provision for the offering in the thicket. His comissioning is found in the hidden places, just as Moses discovered the burning bush in the desert. It is in the cleft of the rock that we gain entrance to stand before heaven, before the burning ones: the seven spirits of God, and the cry will develop within these hidden people- "show me Your glory!"
